Brief Introduction:For a multi-ethnic and multilingual country, language has always been an important issue related to the development of the country, the nation and human rights of the citizens. Since the declaration of independence in the early 1990s, Eurasian countries have taken improving the status of the languages of the main nation and expanding those languages as one of the important means to build national identity and image. In the process of language reform in the past 30 years, the changes of the main national language and the status of Russian has always been a sensitive topic.

Most countries have greatly reduced the using of Russian, and some countries have Latinized the main language, showing an obvious tendency of "De-Russianization". Language issues have been seriously politicized and ideologized, which resulted social conflicts and ethnic conflicts from time to time. This book describes the language condition of Eurasian countries, analyze the background, content, measures, effects and purpose of language policies or language planning, and explore the historical relevance, realistic factors and social impact of language issue.
