From April 22 to 24, 2021,the 18th National Annual Conference on the Discipline Construction of Diplomacy was held in Tongji University. The theme of this year was "Diplomacy in the Post Epidemic Era and China's Diplomacy".

More than 90 experts and scholars from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Peking University, Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Tongji University, Sichuan University, Jilin University, Wuhan University, Nankai University, Beijing Normal University, Lanzhou University, China University of Political Science and Law,National University of Defense Technology,China Institute of International Studies, Jinan University, Central China Normal University, Zhejiang Normal University, Shanghai International Studies University, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, Shanghai Institutes for International Studies, and China Centre For International Sciences and Technology Exchange gathered in Tongji University.Focusing on the theme, scholars discussed the research on China's diplomatic theory and practice in post epidemic era.

Zeng Xianghong, Professor of the Institute for Central Asian Studies of Lanzhou University, Deputy Dean of School of Politics and International Relations of Lanzhou University, was invited to attend the meeting and delivered a speech on "The Hedging Diplomatic Strategy of the Five Central Asian Countries and its Influence ".
