Associate Professor Chen Yiyi of the School of Politics and International Relations of Lanzhou University and the Institute for Central Asian Studies made a report entitled "Current Central Asia and China's National Security" to all postgraduates majoring in political science in Northwest Normal University. The lecture was presided over by Teacher Jiang Tan of the School of Marxism of Northwest Normal University, with the participation of teacher Cao Yabin, teacher Yuan Weijie, and teacher Wen Jin of the College of Mathematics and Statistics.

At the beginning, teacher Chen started with the definition of national security, and introduced in detail the four factors of national formation, the connotation of national security, the evolution of the concept of national security and so on. Subsequently, teacher Chen shared his recent research progress. Based on GTD (global terrorism database), he found the decreasing trend of terrorist activities is against the fact that extremist ideas are relatively active in Central Asia, which can not be explained by existing theories. By reviewing the existing literature, it is also found that the anti-terrorism policies of national and regional organizations can not explain the subjective state. Therefore, a new idea to explain the trend of terrorism in Central Asia from the subjective state is put forward. Finally, through the case of the Islamic Movement in Uzbekistan, Teacher Chen demonstrated how his interpretation framework explain the development trend of terrorism in Central Asia in detail. Finally, Teacher Jiang Tan made a summary of the conference, and the lecture came to a successful ending.
